Tests Offered

Urinalysis

Urine testing, one of the most common screening methods, is an accurate and reliable way to detect casual drug use that occurred within the past 72 hours. We offer both non-regulated (non-DOT) and regulated (DOT) drug tests. Although widely used for pre-employment screening, since detection in a urine test is relatively short, it is also a perfect solution for post-accident or reasonable suspicion (for cause) drug tests.
We test for the following drugs:

10 Panel Non-DOT Screen

Amphetamines: amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA (Ecstasy), MDA, MDEA

Barbiturates

Benzodiazepines

Cocaine Metabolites

Marijuana Metabolites

Methadone

Opiates: codeine, morphine, 6-AM (heroin)

Phencyclidine (PCP)

Propoxyphene

5 Panel DOT Screen

Cocaine Metabolites
Marijuana Metabolites
Opiates: codeine, morphine, 6-AM (heroin)
Phencyclidine (PCP)
In addition to the screening the urine for drugs, Quest Diagnostics also screens for any adulterants present in the specimen due to donor contamination.

If the initial drug screen detects the possible presence of one of the above drugs, a GC/MS confirmation test is automatically performed at no charge to the client.

Negative drug results are typically returned within 24 hours. Positive confirmations may take an additional 24 hours.

Hair Testing
Hair testing is becoming more and more popular for the purposes of pre-employment testing. The detection window for this type of test is approximately 90 days, which allows the employer to determine if the candidate has a recent history of drug use without providing the applicant time to abstain before a job search.
We test for the following drugs:
5 Panel Hair
Amphetamines: amphetamine, methamphetamine, MDMA (Ecstasy), MDA (metabolite of MDMA)
Cocaine Metabolites – cocaetheylene, benzolecgonine, norcocaine

Marijuana Metabolites – carboxy-THC

Opiates – morphine, codeine, 6-AM (heroin)
Phencyclidine (PCP)

Breath Alcohol Testing

The purpose of breath alcohol testing is to determine current impairment, rather than simply the presence of alcohol. Therefore, timeliness is extremely important, even more so when you are aware of how quickly alcohol is absorbed into the system. Breath testing is typically used for post-accident or reasonable suspicion testing. It is also required as a random test for DOT employees, such as truck drivers or pilots.

Please be aware that certain states and cities have specific restrictions and requirements regarding drug testing. Employers should make themselves familiar with these laws. Legal counsel is strongly advised

ConcernedCRAs logo
ConcernedCRAs is a group of like-minded CRA’s (Consumer Reporting Agencies) who are concerned about the future of the employment background screening industry. We believe that certain data practices employed by some CRA’s place our profession at risk.

Some employment background screening firms send the sensitive personal information (i.e. social security numbers and financial account information) off-shore to be processed. We believe that sending such information off-shore places both applicants and employers at risk and should be avoided whenever possible. Alternatively, when personal information is sent to other countries, applicants and employers should be made aware of this practice. In addition, some employment background screening firms sell “national criminal records databases” to employers without appropriate safeguards to ensure that the information they are delivering is accurate and up to date. We believe that criminal records databases are valuable sources of information if they are used in a responsible manner.

We are concerned that these practices do not appropriately protect employment applicants from avoidable harm. Likewise, employers are placed at increased risk of litigation and public relations problems when their employment background screening partners employ these practices. Ultimately, we are concerned that ongoing media coverage related to errors in background checks and the potential for litigation and overreaching legislative solutions place our profession at risk.
